Yup. And some major urban cultures in the northeast, midwest and Pacific need a reality break as well.

The money is gone, party's over. They simply cannot function anymore. Unions need to be broken up, forcibly if need be. They need to grasp the concept that the days of 'someone else' footing the bills are over.

He's funny. He says “But we do have a model set of what Republicans and Democrats, Conservatives and Liberals have come together and put the party labels behind them and come forward with something that says ‘Hey, we may disagree, but one thing is clear that we have to do something' and that’s exactly what they have done.'"

What a blowhard. This is a mandate from Dems as to how they are going to nullify the 2nd Amendment and put a segment of the population under government control.

If you listened to the noise the representatives of that particular voting bloc make, you would logically think they would want to be armed more than any other.

how did "unarmed" work when the slave traders showed up?

Thanks to spineless moderates, the left no longer needs to attack the Republican Party as a whole.

Conservatism=Tea Party=South=radical, uneducated racists.

Charlie Rangel is a criminal. He is an example of all that is wrong with our government.

No. At least not under today's new ethics. You're thinking of another day and time.

A man who ought to be in prison instead of getting a "bad boy" finger wagging in congress is allowed to speak on overcoming issues?

When a politician of the least free state in America talks about overcoming the culture of some of the states with the most freedom, that is a THREAT that needs to be taken very seriously. Don't dismiss him because he's a fruitcake - he gets elected and he has power. I'd rather fight a war against the yankees, than live like they do.

As I understand it, the slave traders hardly needed to be armed - the Africans captured and sold each other, as they still do today.

It was mainly Africans doing the capturing, African Muslims were heavily involved, but they did start using slave profits to buy up large amounts of (low quality) British muskets to make the job easier and increase their power over rivals.

Gee, FRED doesn't see it as a geographical problem, at all!

"It is everywhere. Beneath the debate of outlawing guns lies race.
Conservatives want guns to protect themselves against blacks, but can’t
say so. Liberals want to eliminate guns so as to disarm blacks, of whom
they are afraid but cannot say so. If you think this is not true, tell
me who people fear when they buy guns. Are liberals worried about being
shot by white, forty-five-year-old duck hunters? Do conservatives expect
to find Jewish violinists crawling through their windows at night? Then
whom do they fear?"

I have said it's a country vs. city problem, but that may be even more true and the demographics just make it look like country vs. city.

I know.
There are many who would divide us over the most inane things, all the while the real causes for distress are so darned obvious..

Back then and today those wishing to capture others have found guns to be very handy.

They were also the ultimate tool of power on the plantation.
