Gunowner$

Any of you still have one of these stamps? I'm going to dig mine out and mark all my bills. I think merchants need to be reminded of how much money we spend.

Sometimes gun owners ARE their own worst enemy.

Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or
unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank
bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national
banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal
Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note,
or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined
under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
- 18 U.S.C. § 333 : US Code - Section 333: Mutilation of national bank obligations

The "intent" part is significant, JB. Many political orgs use this method and nobody ever gets prosecuted. It's no different than adding a few numbers up on a bill, which is done all the time.

If your intent isn't to render is unfit for reissue, you're OK.

that's why the "where's bill" stamps are on hundreds of thousands of dollar bills, and they haven't been stopped.

I just don't think it's a very good idea. It's money, not a public billboard.
What if every special interest group wrote their own motto on our money?

It's ok to devalue it... just don't deface it.

It would be VERY interesting to see this catch on.

I remember some show or another about the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek. Everyone walking around looked normal, no flashy clothes or cars. One of the hosts mentioned, you are in an area with more millionaires per square foot than you will see anywhere in the country, including the white house or a hollywood premiere.

I may have to look into designing a stamp....... Any good templates out there?

There are bunches of places online where you can buy rubber stamps. stampmaker.com, for instance. Mine just says "Gunowner$".
