You have to live in a warm climate, store them in the cabinet, take them out on a summer day. No jelly fat on them then.
Then you get some white bread, slather it with Miracle whip, put a few on it and squeeze it in your fist like a giant crushing a rock.
Then shove it in your mouth, MMM MM MMM!

Lol drain. I guess it's a southern Thang?
I cut them in half, lay then on a loaf slathered in mayo, sprinkle some Tabasco sauce and make a sandwich out of them.
Yum.

When I was about 10 we took a road trip from Georgia to Arizona. We ate spam and pineapple sandwiches at roadside tables every day for lunch. It was great!

Fast food joints haven't always existed. Spam, Vienna sausage, potted meat, sardines, cheese, and crackers were the fast food of my youth. I still enjoy them as an occasional snack.

so tell me, those of you that are too good to eat potted meat, spam, or vienna sausages what exactly do you plan on eating while you're hunkering down during the next natural disaster, zombie uprising, or other eotwawki scenario?
on a side note, when you're forced to leave your bottled water behind what are you going to do after 3 weeks of drinking from fetid puddles and rancid water sources?what are you gonna do when your filtration straws wear out?

No use eating stuff that would make a dog puke until you have to.

All the basic food groups. Salt, fat and cholestoral, with a food dye for dessert!

I enjoy Vienna sausages on white bread, slathered in yellow mustard. Sometimes I'll drain the can and let them soak in Franks red hot with vinegar. Sardines and fish fillets in Louisiana hot sauce. Deviled ham is also delicious.

They remind me of hunting with my dad when i was a kid. We lived on Vi-A-nees, Spam, horse c***(summer sausage), cheese, crackers, and coffee for a week or so at a time.

As an avid backpacker, I am quite proficient at spending weeks without running water and refrigeration, all while eating pretty damn good food. But, if my life depended on it, I’m sure I’d chow down on just about anything and love it. Until that time, I’ll stick to better tasting food without the nitrates and slime

Practice? You open the can, put the discusting crap in your mouth, chew and swallow. I’m fairly certain the skill set I’ve developed eating fresh food will transfer over fairly well to canned meat products.

Shooting is a perishable skill. Eating is not. When I'm hungry enough, I'll eat the anus out of a horse. Raw.
But until then, I'd prefer something better. However, just like fat chicks, sometimes you gotta go hoggin' to be reminded how bad certain things are.

I mix a good cornbread batter, put in the sausage and deep fry. When I was trapping in the mid-west, I put them on muskrat floats....worked good...

The chicken version is better than the original but I'm good with them all. Shelf-stable, filling and in a sturdy can. Then again, I eat tuna for lunch most days...
