Question about cleaning

I have a 23 gen 3 and have really been putting a lot of rounds through it lately and I usually keep my guns quite clean. The other week while cleaning my 23 I realized there was what looked like some sort of fouling in the barrel and I can NOT seem to get rid of it I tried gun slick bore foam which by the way I didn't care for and my old faithful hoppes no. 9 didn't seem to do the trick either.. Any advice or ideas? It's just like a grayish color in the rifling and a little bit of gold/copper colored lines that go with the rifling.

Try some 91% isopropyl alcohol. If not, get some Wipe Out.
