It's almost official, putting in my 2 weeks...

I'm going to go get paid to sleep I got a conditional offer from the local fire department. Just need to wrap up the rest of the process with the physical and the paperwork. I'm sad to leave the job itself but happy to leave my particular department.

I still hope to come back eventually as a tac medic once I'm done with medic school. I'm still going to lurk much as I've been doing the last while, haven't posted as much due to family and recently school.

Good luck C.

You truly are a good egg. It was fun to have you out here. Be safe in the new job.

I live next to a fire department. Those poor guys are constantly putting themselves in harms way hacky sacking (not kidding), playing HORSE, and cooking delicious food that they don't share.

:D

Hey man if thats what you want I hope you get all of it!!

Going from a Hose Puller to LEO has been relentless hazing for me, so I would be interested in how things go from the other side!!

Radio call I hear almost daily....Specialist Hosemonkey... Sam 55...
and then 20 minutes of razing on the phone....

Good Luck!!

Years ago I was r***ing my 2nd cousin who is a fireman. He responded with, "Laugh all you want but last night I watched the entire Star Wars Trilogy. What did you do on night shift?" I didn't really have a comeback for that.

The city guys here run pretty frequently at 3 of the houses, I hope to be placed with one of them as I'm in it for the experience as I finish medic school. The quicker I can gain experience the faster I can try for the tac stuff. I'm here to work as hard as I can, and go as far as I can.

Somebody has to keep you guys in line too, I mean I can't call you JBT's if I'm in the industry and all... Have to turn mine in first

I watched season 2 of the Chappell show one dark and stormy night.

No shame if you can't hack the job, man. You don't have to pretend you are going to become one of THEM.

All kidding aside, congrats and thanks for serving (and continuing to serve). Hope to see you back on this side eventually too, if that's what works out for ya.

Traitor! You're DTM - Dead To Me!

Nah, all BS aside, congrats and good luck! I've got to think you're gonna look kinda weird with a Lay-Z-Boy growing out the back of your head.

Take care of yourself, brother.

All kidding aside, be careful. Firemen die at 3x the rate of policemen. Collapsing buildings and fires don't care and there is no negotiating with that kind of stuff.

On the plus side... you will learn to be a good cook as the new guy and get to sleep and work out all day too. The guys next to us in the FD spend all day BBQ'ing and playing volleyball, no joke.

Congrats man!

If you ever need any help studying for medic school, hit me up here and we can swap emails or numbers. We're all paramedics here and I happen to be an EMS instructor. Also, when I left my part-time PD gig, it was to take a part-time flight medic gig

Be prepared for r***ing.. lots of r***ing.. lol

My buddy, who likes to be "anti" everything, tells me "you know helicopters statistically don't make a difference in survival." To which I replied "I don't give a ****, I'm on a helicopter!" And we both laughed
