Got a nice spot picked out for them in Oconee County, SC. One for each.
This sucks for NY and for the precedent it will set for the rest of the US. From the Foxnews.com article it appears upstate NY is pretty conservative but I fear NY is like Illinois in that one city runs the entire state.

There might be a specifc mag that will require an upcharge.
However, how many people are going to buy a pistol like a Glock with only a 7-round mag? Something like a Kahr or a good, reliable 1911 would be a better choice simply because you don't have to deal with the fat grip.

Why would Kimber move? They'll just supply the 7 round mag JMB originally intended instead of 8 rounders.

The legislation also increases sentences for gun crimes including the shooting of a first responder that Cuomo called the "Webster provision."
If he wanted to prevent tragedy from striking again, why didn't he make a "Webster provision" that if you're completely crazy and found guilty of "hammer slaying" another human being, you get the chair in one year or less.

As pointed out by many above, it WILL definitely become law.

LOL... who's good word is that?
NY LEOs are a class above the common man and really get off on the whole "sheep dog" nonsense. They have rights the common man does not posses. There is also a special level of government employee worship going on up there.
When Schumer gives the word, doors are going to be coming off the hinges all over the state and masked gunmen are going to rule the night. It's what we payed for with all those Homeland Security funds...

Conservative does not equal Republican does not equal Pro Gun.
There are no pro gun people living in NY, because NY does not allow it's citizens to drink freedom deeply and enjoy the full power of the United States Constitution. I have a whole bunch of folks in my family that are "Pro Gun" that are all over the map as far as Fudd ideology, ARs are OK but no NFA, in home inspection of storage, etc.
The bill just passed a 57% Republican State Senate.

Yes. Through an FFL.
* ban on pre 1994 mags with cap of 11 or more
* ban on mags over 7 rounds
* background checks on all ammo purchases
* mental health reporting which is to be checked against the (new??) gun registry database
* 1 feature test for AW. Bushmaster AR banned by name
* 10 round mags to be grandfathered in but may only be loaded with 7 rounds (read elsewhere this will be a misdemeanor)
* all sales of ammo from registered ammo dealers to be reported to local police
* background check on all ammo purcahses
* ban of direct internet ammo purchases
* ammo purchases to go through FFL
* five year renewable registration for AW and handguns

Congratulations NY, you will have done absolutely nothing to stop criminals from doing what they want.

7 rounds will make revolvers come back big time.
Think about this as well. Isn't NY the state that wants to mandate microstamping? They're cutting their own throats about that by making everyone go back to revolvers.

And so it begins.
I am deeply saddened to receive this news, as its will usher in a new era of crime rule, just like Chicago.

Yeah, I remember how small the guns got during the AWB.. but the thing is, that was a national level. Will there be enough of a market to continue/start making guns like that, just for NY?

If I'm Remington, I'm scheduling a press conference that states that I am leaving the state as soon as a suitable home is found if that thing passes.
If I'm Nikki Haley (SC Govenor, may have spelled her first name wrong), I'm calling Remington and offering a pretty sweet deal to get them down here.

Bets on how long until 7 rounds is just too much? Next will be 5 rounds, and then 3 ...
