Senator Asks for Your Opinion
Florida’santi-gun senator -- Bill Nelson -- has a survey on his website about re-doingthe Assault Weapons Ban. The survey does not require you to input anyinformation -- just check the box and you're done. The website address with thesurvey is: http://www.billnelson.senate.gov/ It's on the lower right hand sideof the page in a small box that says:
"Would you favor reinstating the federal assault weapons ban that expiredin 2004?"
Please vote -- takes about five seconds from the time you go to the website. Also -- please forward an email to every pro-gun person you know to vote.Anyone can vote -- not just Florida residents.
Nelson will likely use this to justify voting for the measure -- unless wereally pack the website with negative votes. As of tonight, the “no” votes were over 96%. That’s a good start. This is from an excellent website- http://orlandocriminallawyer.blogspot.com/

Yah, 96.something NO and the idiot will probably still vote ya. Every poll I've seen the pro gun vote always has it but the MORONS just won't listen. And the the Obomination wins the election. We are surrounded by IDIOTS.

Since the majority do not want to reinstate the ban we are free to now pass legislation that is even more restrictive.... thats how you spin it.

Important online survey by Senator Bill Nelson
Below a blog entry I found on the Jon Gutmacher website:
Quote:
Since Florida only has two senators in Washington -- it's really important they know where we are on national issues. Our anti-gun senator -- Bill Nelson -- has a survey on his website about re-doing the Assault Weapons Ban. The survey does not require you to input any information -- just check the box and you're done. The website address with the survey is: http://www.billnelson.senate.gov/ It's on the lower right hand side of the page in a small box that says:

Please vote -- takes about five seconds from the time you go to the website. Also -- please forward an email to every pro-gun person you know to vote. Anyone can vote -- not just Florida residents.
Nelson will likely use this to justify voting for the measure -- unless we really pack the website with negative votes.

Nelson is no friend of your Second Amendment rights.
His anti- gun rights voting record speaks for itself.
The smoke and mirrors of a poll won't change what he does.

That is true, but if the poll turns out to support gun control he will use that poll as justification for his agenda at every opportunity

Unfortunately, Nelson is one of "my" Senators. Stupid Floridians just voted him in for another six years. I wrote to him on the gun control issue weeks ago and have not received any kind of reply. Of course, I haven't received a reply from my Republican representatives either. That's disappointing.

Found it, but his response was from before this mess.
Dear Mr. Mathis,
Thank you regarding the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. I'm grateful for your thoughts and for the opportunity to respond. As you may know, in October 2009, under the direction of President Obama, the U.S. voted to participate in the negotiation of United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in the United Nations General Assembly. The purpose of this treaty is to create a set of international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional arms. The U.N. held a conference in July of 2012 to finalize this agreement, but the conference ended without a final deal. As the process currently stands, I am concerned that the Arms Trade Treaty poses serious dangers to the constitutional rights of Americans. Our Second Amendment rights are not negotiable.
It is evident to me that certain parts of the treaty challenge One
freedoms. limitation of the transfer of arms within member states. Additionally, the treaty is also designed to control the transfer of arms from non-state actors, placing the burden of controlling crime
instead of on the member states of the U.N. For these reasons, I have co-sponsored the Second Amendment
(S.2205), a bill which prohibits funding to
a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that
negotiate
restricts the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens.
As a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, please know that I am following the developmentprocess closely. I appreciate your opinions, and I look forward to serving the people of Florida.
Sincerely,
Marco Rubio United States Sen.
