What state would you relocate to?
For the purposes of this hypothetical question, if you were forced or had to leave your current state where would you move to and why?

Virginia or Carolinas. North of that the winters suck, south of it the summers suck.

Alaska for the political climate and maximum distance from the malignant tumors on the East coast. Would love to pick up a nice used Suburban, pack up the wife, guns, tools and books and head for the nearest ferry dock.

well, not knowing anything else about the situation, it prob comes down to a balance of climate and politics. if not for the politics, CO would be ideal to me, but I just couldn't do it now that they went all nutbar.
Politically, I would love TX, but I wouldn't like the climate....I already hate the heat I have in KS :(
WA would be nice regarding the abundance of activities available and beautiful scenery. I really like Seattle too, but prob wouldn't live there.
Prob wouldn't go east, or south, so likely it'd be a western state (ID, WY, UT), or the pacific NW (WA, OR)

I don't ever see myself moving to another state. I love WA too much and it suits me here.
If I HAD to move, it would be to another west coast state. Probably Oregon, maybe even Alaska. I need to be around Fir trees.

Wyoming. Lots of open space and people are pretty down to earth there!

Tough one! It would have to be a Gulf state. On the boarder between a Conservative and a Progressive state. Somewhere I can enjoy the liberties/freedoms that both might 'allow' me.
The best of both worlds.

I am moving my wife and 3 kids to the Nashville, TN area from inland southern CA this summer. I have family there....the gun laws are awesome and I just can't stomach CA anymore. Looking forward to the low tax burden in TN too.

Texas. I have lived in FL and AK, and have no plans to go back, unless it's to visit. Florida is okay, but after 18 years ther, I'd broaden my horizons a bit.

Somewhere in the west, more north than texas, less south than Montana. Somewhere with excellent gun laws, summers below 95 (if possible), winters above 0, with a low or moderate cost of living, and a job I enjoy.
I have no idea what state that is, but that's what I want.

i ended up here in TN with the military and now im really liking it. would need to be one heck of a reason to force me out now, but going along with this thread, my backup is Missouri. its where i grew up and have friends and family still.

Another reason I'd stay on the west coast is I need to be near water. I'd hate being landlocked.

I'd go back to TN. I'd also consider KY, MT and a few other states if I could find a job.
