Why are people paying these prices?!

Went to the gun show today (yeah, my mistake!). Asked several dealers what they could do price-wise, not one of them budged off the outrageously inflated sticker price. I even pointed out to one guy that I could still see where his price on Glock mags had been $25, crossed out and replaced with $50. He was still babbling on with his BS excuse when I walked away in disgust.

But the dealers don't have to have reasonable prices, because morons are lining up like it's Christmas to pay! Ammo prices have increased 50-300% in the last month, across all calibers, and people are actually buying! WTF?

The biggest thing that gets me is the price increase on 9mm. I can see wanting to stock up on 7.62x39, as it's all imported and can cease being available in a heartbeat. But do people actually think domestically produced, extremely widely available, 9x19 is going away? Really?!

****ing morons...

They are scared and they are not thinking.

These prices have me thinking about selling a lot of my stash.

I want to buy some Glock mags - how much do you want for yours?

Will you sell them to me for $24.99?

I wouldn't sell mine for anything. However, if I were in the business of selling them, I would sell what I had for regular price. Make the same money as always, not piss off potential/former customers. All the bins of $50 Glock mags (and $40 KCI glock mags) were still full. What's the tell you? The dealers are not doing themselves any favors either.

Prices now reflect the value for what could be the last chance to buy something new, with supply completely cut off in 3-12 months. It's a bet. If a ban does come, the price increases will stick, or go up further. If no ban occurs, today's buyers are tomorrow's losers when the market settles down and prices collapse.

I don't know any Obama voters who said that.

They do it out of fear and some out of greed. Both are very powerful human emotions.

The regulars here should have known to buy theirs before the election.

My advise is that if you are not set up to reload now, then do so ASAP. Those who rely on WalMart for ammunition will have to sell their guns and take up golf because the corporate chain retailers like WalMart will likely stop selling ammunition in the near future.

Get the book "ABC's of Reloading" to get started.

Proof that public schools have failed us.

What do you think those $50 15 round Glock mags will be priced at after the ban at your local gunshow, if selling them on the used market is even allowed? What were they selling for during the 94 ban?

I hear ya. Two guys that I work with, who have shot my AR's and have shot my handguns and know how much I can reload for what I spend ect., they just recently decided they would buy AR's since "they were afraid they couldn't get them anymore".

Good idea, but the problem is they cant find ammo, mags, or reloading supplies. Basically they are screwed.....

So I guess that is why some people pay the prices they do. Because, quite frankly, someone else has it and they need/ want it.

I bought 4 AR mags and 1 Glock 30 mag after the deal out east, along with more reloading supplies. I will admit that I probably did buy more than I normally would have though (primers, powder) but I didnt go broke, didnt clean off the shelves, and didnt pay any more than what I paid six months ago.

Folks `now realize the "value" of guns and their "accessories" as do the dealers. "Heat" The new Gold ....

`Things people thought were no big deal and took for granted caught many off guard.

Three. One is the president, two are a married couple up the street hoping for a first child.
