I use the Federal P9HST2 147 grain in my MK9. Did you just recently get your MK9? I have had mine ffor 7.5 years. It is a great little gun.

That's great but he was asking about a 3" barrel and clothed gel.

If it were me I would pick up some 124gr and 147gr HST and see which you like better. In such a small gun I would go with the standard pressure vs the +P but that is up to you. The 147gr +P HST is tough to find even when there is not all this craziness going on. I think you will find you will have a tough time finding the HST right now do to the madness.

These guys usually have 124 and 147 HST in stock at a decent price. They supplied the HST 147 for my test.

No I haven't but I use it on the theory that it may lose less velocity and still stay in its expansion window in the short barrel.

Well by my estimate, the +p+ 9mm 115gr JHP is likely breaking 1250 FPS out of the 3" barrel. A healthy load from such a short barrel.

Should break 1250 FPS easily. Could hit 1300 FPS from 3.0".

1300 is a bit optimistic.
