Piers was on the CBS morning show this AM, he brought the tape of Jones to use as an example of "Gun Owners".
Right in his trap, it worked very well to scare the Soccer Mom's to fall in lock step with the Administration's line of thinking.
BTW he whined a bit about the 100,000 plus sig's asking that he be sent back to G.B.

After trying to put it off, I finally broke down and watched the tirade on YouTube. All I can say is, "Holy ****!" Jones was clearly filibustering the whole interview and making himself look bad. If he had any credibility with mainstream people he surely lost it after that tirade.

Don't get me wrong, his message was spot on, but the delivery was a slow motion train wreck. Delivery is everything in the modern world.

I like watching Alex Jones, hes entertaining, and is spot on..on SOME subjects.

Not to mention he has more vigor and passion about these issues than anyone else Ive seen..unfortunately his delivery needs alot of work. His "passion" gets him in trouble with interviews.

He appeals to a niche audience (conspiracy theorists mainly) which the majority of GT is not. I'm not surprised most everyone on here is hateing him.

Alex Jones basically just took about 15 minutes of ranting to say:

MOLON LABE

If you can't deal with that, you should be ashamed of yourself as a gun owner standing guard for freedom.

How does Ted Nugent make gun owners look bad?

Because he's passionate? because he does more than 99.9% of gun owners?

its easy to criticize these guys on the internet...how much have you done?

By being a loud obnoxious nutjob that can rarely ever show restraint. Passion is one thing, scaring people off with self absorbed insanity poorly shrouded in passion is another. You really think we need that type of person, acting the way Nugent does, being "our voice"? Do you really think the soccer mom that's scared to death of guns needs to see someone like Nugent acting like a jackass to help her understand why gun owners are just "everyday people"?

Internet has nothing to do with it, I'd be more than willing to tell him as much in person, email, handwritten letter, on the phone, etc. I appreciate what he TRIES to do, its the way he does it that's laughable and embarrasing.

I'm limited in what I can do in terms of political activism as a cop. I pay my NRA and GOA dues and write/call my lawmakers, as well as teach gun safety and education classes for people of all ages. I manage to do this without wearing camo suits, being a cowardly draft dodger, a loud mouthed braggart, and usually without scaring anyone off due to my belligerent nature.

Please excuse any typos, just got off from my 12 shift and I'm not too good with a touch screen.

Ted Nugent is very passionate about the Second Ammendment and can have an intelligent debate about the issue.

Alex Jones just made a fool of himself on national television.

If you cannot use logic, some restraint and control your emotions in your presentation of the facts, if you scream and foam at the mouth...
Perhaps you look more like the shooter than a responcable gun owner.
Piers had Alex on the show to use him as an example of a "Typical Gun Owner", he
set him up expecting the time bomb to go off and he did. As soon as Piers was ready, he said 9-11 and then it was over.
Alex doesn't represent me and in my opinion is as much a whore as Piers.

Jone's unbridled, bombastic passion puts a question mark around any possible coherent argument the man could make. I can't even give him my sympathy.
