Non-Chrome Barrels on Yugo M70AB2 An Issue?

I have a lead on a Yugo M70AB2. It could be a T, but I'm not sure yet.

I know it does not have a chrome barrel. Since I don't shoot corrosive, is this really a big deal? I've seen guys with Yugos here that have owned and shot them for years.

My gunsmith says a chrome barrel is easier to clean.
I think they are last longer and are resistant to corrosion.

If you run quality ammo and keep your gun clean and lubed?
Doesn't seem like a big deal.

My Arsenal does have a chrome lined hammer forged barrel...
Someone that really knows will chime in.

Clean your gun and you will be fine. Yugoslavians had no probs and they've been running non-chrome .30cal and 8mm bbls for eons.
Supposedly non-chromed are more accurate, maybe so. Yugos were into marksmanship - so I'll give Zastava the benefit of the doubt in their choices.

Doesn't seem to be an issue on any other gun that doesn't have a chrome barrel. Just because it has a detachable mag and pistol grip don't make it any different. Right ?

Non chrome has never been an issue for me. My AR matched barreled rifle is chrome moly (non chrome lined) and it shoots just as well as it did new in '95.

It would take a lot of abuse and more rounds than the average shooter will ever shoot to wear a non chromed barrel out.

Never had a Yugo AK, but I have a Yugo SKS and it shoots great.

No idea how many rounds have been through it in it's lifetime but I know myself and the last owner have used it quite a bit and its quite a bit older then I am and still shooting straight.

Not a issue.

I have both a Yugo SKS and a Underfolder AK.

Some shooter's don't realize just how few weapons actually have chrome lined barrels/chambers, and they continue to work perfectly for years and years.

Not really a big issue but you do need to clean it a little bit more compared to chrome lined barrels. I generally get more consistent groups with Yugos though.

Pretty much this. I never even knew chrome lined barrels existed until I got into AK's. If you know how to clean your rifle you'll be fine.
