Looks like the NY State gun ban is going to come back and bite them in the
arse.
Cops in NY are now criminals. SAFE act didn't exempt police from magazine capacity law. Crazy anti 2nd amendment folk didn't think things through. But the reality is, that if an officer needs more than 7 rounds for his safety than so do the citizens of the not so great state of NY.

Yes Assembly man Graf was outspoken against the bill and he voted no. His Daughter is NYPD IIRC. They said they have a few things to fix. I am even more scared now then I was when I read it the first time!

The cops in NY will do what they want regardless of the law. They aren't going to arrest each other. Under the previous gun laws before these they had all the nice toys for their home protection and hobby. It was just us proles that weren't allowed stuff. That won't change.

One of two or three things comes to mind:
1. In their haste to rush this bill forward someone simply overlooked the obvious.
2. They wanted to neuter the Empire State Coppers
3. They do not have a clue
OK, maybe all three? But I doubt No.2.

They banned brains with more than seven cells a long time ago.

The guys who would not vote for the lesser evil of a moderate Republican voted for the greater evil of rabidly anti-gun Democrats.
They deserve to get it good and hard, they also deserve a kick in the balls.

I don't understand why you think that. If the public only needs 7 rounds why should the cops need more?

Most of the liberals hate the police. I can see that all but the bodyguards of the mayor could be reissued revolvers in the future.

Keep it at 7 rounds for the New York City Cops. During a shoot out with bad guys, less chance of cops hitting an innocent bystander......

In that case they should be issued with T/C Contender pistols chambered in .38 Special.

That is the best thing that I have read in a while. Best but sad, sad but true.

Let's see what other "fixes" end up making their way into the thing.

I wish there was a way to get them to enforce this law. It would awesome if they had to put every single cop in NY away on a felony.

As interesting as this is to watch play out, two things come to mind:
It will never happen that cops only have 7 bullets
There will be an amendment or a whole new law that trumps this one that has correct wording.
Either way it is about to be a moot point.
