Does anyone on here work out any more?

Or do all the folks just sit around and watch others work out...

I was going to post my workout journal. Screw it.

I lift 3, occasionally 4 days a week depending on how bored i am on saturday. Then run and/or swim a mile on the off days. Also do pushups intermittently throughout the day if possible.

My right foot is still paralyzed from back surgery. I do light upper body and core exercises (pullups/pushups/squats/situps), Tai Chi, and the best workout for my foot - Bagua circle walking. I also have 25 pound Bagua balls I occasionally use.

Strength & Conditioning

Crossfit is not the only way to get cardio vascular exercise. Is glASSman pushing it as the only way to exercise the cardio vascular system?

One good thing about Crossfit, you can buy a Jump Rope certification from them.

Interesting. I've never heard of those exercises. I hope your recovery goes well.

Man oh man do I feel sorry you, if I am an example of what you are modeling good lucks on.

I was irritated by your first post, but you made me chuckle. I cannot stay irritated. Too funny.

I've been lifting 6 times a week and experimenting with some new stuff.

Been squatting and benching 2x a week. Everything else is the same.

And a lot more foam rolling. And taking less supplements.

I was getting inconsistent with updating my log, so I just nixed the whole thing.

Sadly, I have been preparing for my AF PT test. Which means starvation diet (feels like it at least) and cardio pretty much. I've lost 13 pounds in a little over a month. I can do pushups like no tomorrow but my heavy numbers have gone through the floor. They weren't even that good to begin with. Can't wait until it's over so I can become a man again.

Let's chat-up the science behind the foam roller. I tore my hip connectors while running this summer and had to do some self-rehab as I couldn't just stop running (Army). I used the roller and it hurt like hell but it worked (I believe). BUT.....not sure I understand the why or how aspect of it. Anyone of you smart folks want to chime in?

My wife is the director of the library at a university so we belong to the Rec Center.

I told her I can get a pretty good cardio workout just sitting on a bench by the stationary bikes, treadmills and ellipticals

There's a great book out 'The trigger Point Workbook' or something. By Clair Davies.

Anyone who is a serious athlete ort weight trainer should get it. It also talks about various instruments and putting two tennis balls in a sock and rolling your back against them on a wall.

Great book.

Wait a minute. I thought the AF PT test consisted of 2 out of three rounds of golf?
