I just got a PRO from Optics Planet. I love the sight. It's extremely nice, tough, accurate, etc.. What more can you ask for?

I have not had the chance to zero mine yet and was hoping somebody here could tell me how that went for them? Where you on paper on the first shot and did you zero at 25 yards?
Once it's zeroed was it rock solid accurate afterwards and did you zero the flip ups for the same yardage too right?

Lots of variables in zero. Are you running lower 1/3 cowitness, absolute cowitness, etc?
I have always believed in setting up on the irons and adjusting the dot to the irons and then fine-tuning with the dot alone. Same zero as the irons, which for me is the IBZ 50yd/200m zero.

I have lower 1/3 co witness, are you saying that the red dot is physically moved to align to front sight by adjusting knobs

What distance you zero at and how you co-witness depends primarily, IMHO, on your mission, your experience, and your weapon configuration.
In regards to the PRO specifically, my zero experience was great. On paper 1st round, shooting 1" groupings at 25yds within 8-10 rounds. No notable variation since, even with R&R. Very easy to zero and maintain. As everyone else has said, it's tough to beat this optic for the price.

IIRC, the mount that comes with the PRO is slightly lower than absolute cowitness FWIW

Anyone get their backorder from LA Police Gear? I know it said approximately 30 days when I ordered and I am 23 in, just wondering if anyone got any word yet.

My current Patrol Rifle optic is the Eotech XPS 3-0. Best optic I've ever had for my patrol rifle. I added a 3x FTS optic and the combination rocks.

All our Bushmasters M4s (about 800 or so nationwide) are fitted with Aimpoint Comp M4s sights now.
Everyone loves them and I've not heard anyone want to go back to irons again.
I took three cops, who had never used them before, for their firearms recert yesterday and there were no issues at all.
They just picked up the M4s and hit the middle of the targets every time. No introduction lesson to the sight, just told them "put the red dot on the target".
So simple.

Our Firearms Training Sergeant found enough money in the budget to get 50 Aimpoint Micro T-1s and 50 Troy Industries BUIS. A very nice late Christmas gift.
I just got mine last week along with 5 others and after zeroing them did our qual.

Nope. I got this yesterday, though...
Your order contains merchandise that is temporarily on backorder. Due to delays from the manufacturer the backorder timeframe has been extended slightly. Please be assured that this merchandise will be back in stock and arriving to our warehouse shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay has caused.

GT Distributors had them in stock a couple of weeks ago. They have one less than when I walked in.

You can put it in the closet, and in 5 years the batteries will still be working, so it draws very little power.
|
You've got the dot sizes backwards. The EOTech's have a 1MOA dot inside a 65MOA ring. The Aimpoint PRO has a 2MOA dot.
I've got multiple Bushnell Holosights (guts made by EOTech), an XPS2, and a PRO.
I think EOTech's reticle is better / easier to use. If your department supplies the batteries, and will replace your battery every 6 months, I'd go EOTech. If battery life is a concern, the PRO wins hands down. An EOTech XPS will eat a CR123 in about year, whether you're using it much or not. The PRO, you can leave on for years on a single battery.
Another issue is NV compatibility. On the EOTech's its an option (pay more for it, or buy one that's not NV compatible). The PRO is NV compatible.

Ahhh....I got it also. It was in my spam folder. Guess that means it is not shipping anytime soon.

This is what I use, but a 3-4 model. I have a PRO on a rifle at home. Doesn't seem to work as well for me.
