Many

Many of our law enforcement officers and military would take part in any confiscation ordered by the government. They have sworn to uphold the law and will do it for that reason and also to keep their jobs and be able to feed their family. If they could not get enough local police they would bring in the needed bodies from outside the area.

I've been physically present when the order to forcibly evacuate citizens and confiscate weapons was flatly dismissed by the 1st Cavalry Division task force that was sent to Katrina. Posse comitatus and the Second Amendment were cited as reason that we would not be taking part in those operations. I've seen a lot of Us vs Them attitudes, but for the most part, the military is US. They have weapons at home to, probably in larger percentages. I was trained in Basic Training that it was my duty to NOT follow illegal orders.

This article is a good read for all involved.

Really? That is where in an oath?

Does it come before the US Constitution?

Does it come before the State Constitution?

Where does it fall in the oath?

I, ______, having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God." Nope, I didn't find it in my oath.

I don't know about "burning children", but in GNG, there's a lovely thread going on:

How can the state confiscate private property?

This is just a small sampling:

I know what Id do, but im not married with kids. How many of us, faced with the actual choice of laying down arms and living or keeping arms and dying by the hands of our own LEO or Mil?

2.) Would our Military and LEO members carry out orders to disarm the people? Would they say "**** that, i am defending our constitution, and will not carry out these orders" Or, would they stay loyal to superiors and do as they are told? Id assume most would not, but its a valid question.
That is why my wife knows how to shoot better than most guys, has a ccw, and is always armed.

Feel free to jump in if you want to see all the experts there talking about how FEMA is secretly gearing up, in conjunction with Americorps, to train young volunteers to start going door to door for confiscations. It's quite interesting to see what some folks believe.
