Very little maintenance required of that engine, and it ran 10 km/liter city and 16 km highway with the airconditioner on. I still see it running whenever I go home. It's a farm service now.

BTW, has Toyota corrected its problems with the 2.5 liter diesel engine that powers the 4x2 Hi-Lux and the Innova?
have the 2.5li on a fortuner pero vgt version
been very careful where I load my diesel
Lahat naman yata ng crdi are sensitive sa filthy diesel
My mitsu pickup had this problem as well

it doesnt need to be at high speeds pala
Dapat high revs lang
High revs lang pag city driving esp. the Montys, Fortuners, Stradas etc. Para matanggal lang ang carbon deposits. Please remember we have one of the dirtiest diesel available. Kaya sila naglabas ng premium diesel like Blaze Diesel and V-Power Diesel.

And regarding the new Ranger, I think it is bang for the buck kahit 1.1M. Mataas na ang wading height (good for floods), better fuel efficiency take note on the size of the engine from 2.5L to 2.2L now, higher clearance and best of all it's diesel hence more torque. Ang problema lang ng pickups mahirap iparada lalo na sa masisikip na parking lot tulad ng The Link sa tapat ng Landmark. Unless may built in camera na. Di pa rin maganda interiors ng pickup.

I think that's the Wildtrack some of you were referring to. Iba yung wheels and bumper nun.

It definitely has it's pros and cons
Pero I think the pros outnumber the cons because of the environment we drive in
You dont need to avoid potholes, you just drive thru them
My pickup is 5 , has a 100k kms on it and runs like new
It is my first pickup , di nako babalik sa kotse ( pero punyeta ganda ng type 86! )
I have no plans of selling it and plan to use it till ayaw na nya umandar hehe
The cost of reliable casa maintenace malayo sa cost ng new car

anybody tried pertua metal additives?hindi siya kagaya ng oil additives na pinapalapot ang oi,,ung pertua bonds sa metal parts ng makina,so kahit ag change oil kayo nakakapit pa din siya sa engine parts,2 x a year lang ako maglagay ng pertua, tested ko na din sa nissan pick up ko before a sa race car.sulit siya for the price na 300-400 petot depende sa auto supply.

Those still scouting for a new pick-up this year, another good choice.

TRUE!!! I test drove the wildtrak on a trail GANDA din!!! I am sold with the 2.2 manual. I want to get rid of the step bar and burloloy on the side of the bed - kung ako lang I would sell those before it leaves the dealer and use the cash to get some other functional items

medyo old school ako - I would rather have a manual for off roading and maintenance is easier pag luma na.

I was impressed sa 2.2 engine niya and features ng wildtrak - problema nagiging idiot's 4x4 sa dami ng assist assist chuva

lets face it - it is a pick up made for utility work. For me the ride was good. Meron lang mga trade offs if you want a capable off road vehicle that can carry heavy stuff too.

But after saying that the ride was pretty good. PLUS I was hitting 80-100kph on winding roads - of course with traction control AND we were going 60-70kph on 5th gear on low 4 on ROUGH roads

Yan ang hindi ko lang alam - some say ok some say mahal. PMS is around 8-9k for every 10k kms.

I think after sales depends na on the dealers - the one in libis is ok daw.

from what I researched - strada is still a bit better BUT (this is from the guy who let me do the test drive on a trail and does test drives of different off roaders too) the softer ride translates to harsher off road capabilities too.

Oh yeah another consideration: under chassis (cv joints etc etc) of the ranger is a lot beefier than the rest of the pick ups. (as told to me)
