With all the drama about gun control and the subsequent panic, seems ammo and guns are just gone, again. Although I have a nice stash of both ammo and guns, I challenge the wisdom of burning through that premium ammo without having an idea of when it can be replaced. Not willing to sacrifice my favorite hobby I've had to get a little creative. Enter the .22LR.
Before all this last craze I've owned a Ruger MKIII and 10/22 but they were kind of an after thought in my gun collection. Something to pop turtles with occasionally. Of recent, I've developed an itch for shooting the .22 because it's much cheaper and generally more plentiful. I have 7000 rounds plus another 4200 inbound. Considering that, I bought a Single Six and have really been enjoying shooting it. Since I've rediscovered the .22LR, I've also ordered a Smith and Wesson 617, which I should have Tuesday. They will make a nice addition to the MKIII and 10/22.
I'm really excited about being able to shoot quality guns for so cheap. I can still work on my shooting skills as well as have a bunch of fun on the cheap. I think I'm going to really enjoy these little .22 blasters. I've got a mess of milk jugs and pop bottles saved for a nice day.
I hope .22 comes back on the scene soon.
