Nutjobs here use guns. In China, you see on the news where folks are into cutting implements. They have had nuts there attack schoolkids with meat cleavers. Guns just happen to be very efficient killing tools. Duh

We just passed 500 homicides in Chicago-land for 2012, so the answer is "no". Only the outlaws are carrying concealed (and some do open-carry as seen in some YouTube videos).

Swaziland and Papua New Guinea both have extremly high homicide rates with little legal gun ownership.
Granted,we are slightly more advanced than those two,but it shows that bad people will find a means to do evil.
