Another New Guy To The Forum - Michigan
I just wanted to say hello to everyone and take a moment to introduce myself.
I grew up around guns my whole life and was raised a hunter. Hunted squirrel, rabbit, pheasant and deer mostly. Hunted using shotguns, rifles and started in archery at about 15. Also have had numerous handguns of various caliber.
Most recent years I have done less hunting, but still a little and took time to enjoy others hobbies such as snowmobiling, motorcycles, High Power Rocketry, Large Format Photography, and a 19th century photographic process - wet plate collodion photography.
Those were all great but recently I have felt I needed to get back more to my roots and be actively involved with my voice of believing and supporting our 2nd amendment rights.
I have again joined the NRA and as often as I can, I get in discussion with other gun owners and encourage them to do the same, join the NRA. I am amazed how many of my friends and acquaintances, who own guns don't belong to the NRA.
I believe we are in a very critical time and Every gun owner should support the NRA. It is about the numbers.
I also pledge that I will write all my legislatures and I encourage Everyone to do the same with theirs. Now is not the time and quietly sit in the back row and watch things play out. Because they will one way or the other, but our collective voices CAN be heard. There are way more gun owners than NRA members, imagine if there were 50 Million members sending the message to Washington instead of just 4 million...

Welcome!
In addition to my G30, I also shoot a Burke and James 4x5 with a Zeiss Jenna 150mm Tessar. Relaxing.
I'm also a pest to my representatives. I'm writing them all the time!

Nice on the Burke and James...
I shot medium format Hasselblad and 4x5 large format (Tachihara and a Chamomix) I sold all that to get into wet plate.
My most recent camera was a custom made 10x10 wet plate camera in which I used a 13" Dallmeyer Petzval lens made in 1861. Not exactly relaxing though...

Welcome from a lifelong Michigander living exile (Virginia). I highly recommend joining the MCRGO (Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners). At least sign up for the e-mail and see what you think - the info they provide is about current legislation, events, and questions from members regarding MI gun-related laws and procedures. Mi is beginning to catch on, with support for concealed pistol license (only about 10, 15 years old or so), support for suppressors very recently, etc. Lots of great shoots in MI, too - Washtenaw Gun Club pin-and-plate shoots, Brighton Gun Club 3-gun (one of the bet around by popular opinion), etc. Good on ye for gettin involved.
