They're saying this actually will probably pass? Funny how that story simply calls it "assault weapon and hi capacity clip" ban. Nothing about whether grandfathering is allowed (and from what I've heard, it's not, meaning turn em in).
Is the text of this bill available somewhere?

When fools rush in! It won't pass and those 60 gun makers need to move and take the jobs with them. Sierra left CA.

If you read the bill, it states that you will be grandfathered, but must be able to provide proof pf purchase prior to January 01, 2014. You will have a year to stock up and purchase everything you need to and get your FOID to shoot at a range.
You will not be allowed to sell the magazines or assault weapons, only pass them down to family, if they own FOIDs.

From what I am hearing. The Illinois Senate did not vote on the AWB bill because the bill would have failed by three or four votes.
Ironically the gay marriage bill was also shelved for the same reason. Perhaps, not as liberal as they thought in Illinois.
The Chicago/ northern IL polititians are the ones pushing this. Chicago need to become its own State or better yet Country.
