Seen the new Goldwing?
The GoldWing F6B, to paraphrase that old Buick commercial, this isn't your father's Goldwing. Finally a sharp looking bagger that's based on a real motorcycle. And, it's supposed to hit dealers in February. It might replace the BMW K1600GT on my next bike list. You might even loosely call it an updated Valkyrie, though Honda doesn't. The commercial is kind of dorky, but the bike has promise.

Beemer fairing look from the side, Victory back end.
The look from the front end I will have to get used to (or not).

A couple of things on it look a bit similar to the current Goldwing.

The typical gold wing buyer is not going to like it...

I like it - not the old Honda Accord looking rear end.

I like it. It looks like the front end from the flopped automatic / manual motorcycle for about 3 years ago. Can't remember the name I only saw 1 on the road.

Yeah, I'm guessing that's not the market they're going after with this one. And, the standard one will still be available for those people. I would like to see a little taller windscreen option available.

From the little I could see in the commercial, it looks sharp. It would be nice if it came with a windshield, though.

It looks like a watered down Victory crossed with a sport bike front end. But I bet it is a great ride!

The Victory has to be the ugliest motorcycle ever produced.
This one looks good.
But the old farts who normally ride wings aren't going to like it.

Perhaps my comment wasn't clear so I'll restate. I think this bike is fugly. But looks are subjective and I'm sure many like it's looks just fine.
And just because I think it's fugly doesn't mean I wouldn't ride it, Honda isn't known for making junk and I reckon' it's performance for it's class is top notch.

As far as the sport bike part goes, remember the wing has a twin spar frame, which is most commonly found on sport bikes and sport bike geometry. In a way it's like a scaled up sport bike. From what I can tell from the videos and pictures, it appears to have pretty close to standard wing geometry so it should handle well for its size.

What do you mean The Victory? They make a number of models which look quite a bit different. There is no one Victory look, unless you mean just the motor area.

Seen the new Goldwing?
Actually, yes I have seen it.
The Goldwing is the one Honda motorcycle that I have kept up with over the years. I haven't ridden one in decades, but being how I rode the first edition of the Honda Goldwing sold in the US (my oldest brother's bike), I have always watched, "out of the corner of my eye," what Honda has done with subsequent models sold in the united States.

Oldsmobile...not your Father's Oldsmobile, not Buick.
That being said it looks very non-Goldwing and that may or may not be good for Honda. Sometimes innovative design needs a little time to sink in. I like the lines of it, but I am not a rider.

I would like to test drive one. Looks to me like they are going after the Harley dresser.

Nice bike. I'd rather have the ST 1300 though. I always liked those.

Needs to have the tail bag / trunk that the Goldwing is known for having. I'd definitely ride that though. My friend said I was old for wanting some sort of bagger at 32 years old, but if I have the choice and I want to go for a cruise, rather than hit the twisties, I'm going for the more comfortable bike. I have a ZX6R if I want to go fast and take turns at ground level.
