Merry Christmas to my western barbarian friends!!!
I'm having posole, green chile stew, carne adovada and chicharones for lunch. Then roast beef and broiled Brussel sprouts for dinner.

Not Jewish but this is the first year we've not had Chinese on Christmas night because I am working this year. Gotta love holiday pay. Besides, I don't really need the Chinese since MSG gives me horrible migraines but it's so.dam.tasty.

I will be having Chinese on the Western New Year, as my wife typically abandons me for the sanctuary of the Church.
For Christmas we are having everything - a smorgasbord of foods from across the world, Mandarin included!

We're neither Jewish or Chinese but we are eating out at Rusty Pelican (seafood place) since it's only me, my mother and her "little."

I'm honestly unsure what I'm eating for dinner. I found out last year that my local Chinese restaurant is closed on Christmas.
I was caught flat footed.
Small town life.
It takes getting acclimated.

A day off from work here in Riga...everything closed so can't get any good food, so had a 6 egg ham and cheese omlet for the main course. Washing it down with several cans of Aldaris..
Being away from home during Christmas bites.....but when I think about the guys (and girls) in uniform who are eating MREs today, I feel a little guilty about my beer intake.

I was not aware of the Jewish faith and Chinese food connection on Christmas day until I just read a quick little web article on it last night. Kind of weird how all of these little unique things about us makes me feel more American no matter what your faith is.

Thanks Rabbi,Merry Christmas to you as well. I'd enjoy some Chinese-American food today but we're cooking for the family dinner at home. Roast beef ,ham,some potato casserole thingy,and who knows what else. Enjoy .tom.

Well, I wasn't going to until I read this. Since our families got Christmas over with last week my wife and I have nothing to do. I think Chinese sounds like an excellent idea.
It's really nice to have a whole week ahead with the wife and catch up on some movies and generally not be rushed for anything.
