Caracal F
Has anybody gotten their hands on one of these yet?
I'm very intrigued by the fast acquisition sight option.

Great triggers and low bore axis to grip make for a fine shooter. I have the F and C versions both with the quick sights. Surprisingly the sights are easy to use and accurate from about 25 yards. (I haven't shot at longer distances to give an opinion.)
The guns perform so well that I'm going the keep the Caracal's and either have them repaired/replaced as per the recall terms. Caracal also offered a buy-back option.
From CaracalUSA:
"As a further update to our October 19, 2012 recall notice, Caracal USA, LLC is advising its customers that it has determined that the production tolerances in the grip frames of a very limited number of Caracal F and C pistols could possibly cause these pistols to fire if dropped onto a hard surface with a round in the chamber."

Great guns I own 3 of them, shot thousands of rounds without any issues. They are hard to find now since the recall and most dealers have taken them off the shelf's.
I would wait a few months and let this recall take effect and hopefully they will get their pistols back on the market.

I would very much like to get my hands on one. I hear almost universally good things about them, aside from the sights and the too-small and hard to use slide stop.
If I remember correctly, Larry Vickers seems to think pretty highly of them. That's a pretty great endorsement if you know anything about the man.

I have a Caracal F Quick Sight. I don't have a lot of rnds through it but I already like it more than my G19. the best way I can the grip is thinner than a G19 Gen4 and the angle is 1911-ish. it almost feels like a single stack pistol.
the trigger is lighter and its a more crisp trigger than a glock. most people think i did a trigger job on it.
the sights are another subject. if i had to do it again i would have got the standard sights, my eyes are trying to line up the rearsight and its hard to find the rear sights in there new position. its hard to relearn finding the sight after 6-7 years of the sights being on the same spot on every pistol in the world
Im really hoping caracal can recover from the recall they are very good pistols at a good price point.

I don't love that they're made in the UAE but I do like that a former Glock engineer designed it. Fewer components and an improved trigger would sounds good to me. I wonder if Glock would ever consider making a similar sighting arrangement an option.

Your government (both sides of the aisle) has been donating your tax dollars for years.

I've been able to hold one but not fire one. Liked it enough that I will certainly be looking to buy when they start to show up again.

I was very close to purchasing a caracal c when I bought my 23 ...
The caracal feels just like a glock , the sights sucked but the trigger was amazing ... I will prob. get a caracal c in the future.

If the Caracal is anything like the Steyr A1 models I'm definitely interested, especially in the sub-compact .357sig models that haven't currently found their way into to the US.
The Steyr S9-A1 for me is a superior weapon to the G-26/G-27/G-33 size and fit.

i agree completely. Wait I buy gas... but anyway. I would not buy one for no other reason then that they are made in the Middle East.
I would not buy one even if they ate rainbows and pooped butterflies.

I love my Caracal F (see video below). I contacted Caracal about the recall but haven't heard anything yet (apparently the replacement guns are due next month in the US). I loaded some brass with a primer and tried to make both my C & F fire by slamming on hard surfaces and..... couldn't do it. My guess is a very small number of guns are actually a problem and Caracal's just recalling all of them as a CYA measure. If the SC's ever hit the shores I'll be picking one up.
