Any Caracal owners out there?

I have a Caracal-C with quick sights and all I can say it is awesome.
Hands down best striker fired trigger and best sight picture of any handgun that I have ever shot.
I was just checking to see if any of you Guys or Gals own or carry a Caracal.
The only draw back is the price of mags if you can find them.

I loved my C model as well! Sent it in for a refund, but i will get a 2nd Gen if they have night sights. The Caracal's are better than Glock's in my experience.

I doubt most people make the conscious decision to drop their firearm.

<===== was a happy Caracal Guy, and was one of the original guys on here to have purchased 2 models (F & C) with in 2 weeks of each other b/c I liked them soooooo much... We took a lot of redicule here on GT for buying a "Jihad Pistol". I think it was an unfair assessment and

But I can truly say they were fun, reliable, and had better triggers than any Glock I own. Nevertheless, I took the refund money and ran!! I'm skeptical of Caracal being able to right the ship.

However, they are 1st class and standup in the fact they:
-acknowledged a problem
-offered a free fix
-offered a FULL REFUND if a customer was unwilling to wait on the recall work to be done (parts had to be shipped from Dubai/Europe)
-That refund included (holsters & accessories) a lot of folks don't know that!! I was told via phone, if I had accessories send them in also for FULL REFUND!!!

NOW THAT'S STANDING BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT!!! Not Ruger's "Oh send any of our new models in, we'll fix and send you a new mag." Not Glocks, "Theres no peoblem with Gen4's stop buying weak ammo and strengthen your WEAK wrists!" Not HK's "Piss on you, u're not a LEO Contract... We'll get to you when we can..."

I'm not saying that necessary to FLAME, but we see and read on GT about bad examples of Customer Service in the industry all the time... I'm saying all that to say, Caracal is going about this thing the RIGHT WAY! I like their product and as soon as they figure out how to make a regular dovetailed sight version (Gen2) I'm IN!!!

For those choosing to wait on the recall work to be done... You'll also get a "loyalty pack" (Hat, T-Shirt, Free Extra Mag, 15% coupon) I hope they allow guys to use that 15% on a firearm, not for a cheesy accessory! Good Luck Guys!

Think of all those dangerous 70 series Colt's out there that will go off when dropped. Oh the humanity........

Saw them at SHOT last year. I like them and would like to get a C model sometime soon. I need me a good sandbox turban handgun.

These are two of the best handling 9mm pistols I own. Both F and C have the quick sights and marked "Waffen Werks". I'm going to ask that these be repaired, instead of replaced.

The Caracal is very interesting to me since I own an outstanding Steyr S9-A1. What most interests me is a the sub-compact model that is advertised as offering .357sig as one of three calibers although I don't think any Caracal .357sig "C" models have yet been imported to America.

I emailed Caracal and asked them what my options are on repairs. I still have not got an answer from them so far.If it takes them this long to get back on an email I wonder how long it would take to get my gun repaired or replaced. That is my main reason for not sending it back plus I don't want them to mess up the great trigger pull.

You do know that intelligent owners of Colt SAA did/do carry them with an empty chamber under the hammer ?

You don't load that chamber in a SAA.

How is it different. The series 70 is not drop proof. That is why they came out with the 80 series.

The firing pin rests on the primer, directly on it at all times, in a SAA. In a series 70, the FP is retracted by a FP spring. It doesn't rest on the primer and it won't discharge under typical dropping conditions.

Not at all. The Caracal, if it's manufactured properly, can't go off when fired. The FP is trapped by the trigger bar. But in the case of your Caracal, the gun is defective, and therefore can go off if dropped.

Don't worry, if you drop it it will probably hit the person next to you, so it's not your problem anyway.

I called the next day after they announced the recall and haven't heard back from them or got a shipping carton. Think I'm going for the refund and sell the extra magazines and holster. The sights picture is far to "tight" for me anyway.
