Luckygunner and Ventura are sold out. Really trying to find just one part of my life that I can enjoy without Obama farking it up somehow. This guy so much as farts and ammo shelves empty.

Good God- Don't blame him... Blame the Media and your fellow gun owners that are panic buying.

J&G is out.
7.62x39 (and 5.45x39) have always been vulnerable to the administration. It's almost all imported. 5.45 is all (or nearly) surplus. If the inspectors stop passing it through it dries up. If there is a buying panic, it disappears. Even the Winchester is imported (S&B). Not sure about the other "domestic" brands. While my AK is one of my favorite guns, it's never been the one I count on for this reason.

You can only blame people for panic if they don't have a good reason. I blame those panicking about school safety, because they don't have a reason, but I can't blame those paicking about gun control, because it will happen and all we can hope for is a decent compromise tokeep some rights.

I ordered my first AK about a week ago.
Admittedly have little knowledge about AK/AR platforms.
Wanted the legendary reliability of an AK with domestic ammo to run on.
So I picked up a Arsenal SLR-106U AK Pistol Kit, 5.56x45 (223).
Getting target and tactical 556/223 was a challenge last week.
But mission accomplished.
Also snapped up 7 Bulgarian 30 round Circle 10 5.56 mags - just in time...

Bren, You may want to re-think, not have a reason on school security, in the wake of copy cat shooters. I wonder how many kooks are thinking maybe i could top that number. Schools have always had monitors on grounds, the way our society is , these people need to be trained and armed. The whole point is not as a deterrent, but to end it as quickly as humanly possible. My ***** is, there should be enough money from the lottery, to help fund something like this. Where is all that money going when someone wins big, takes lump sum, and does not get it all? Yes, gun control " will happen" but the school shootings and copy cats, already have!

Finally! Someone that is being realistic. I don't want it to happen but realisticly, I see no way around it. I took a lot of crap for saying what I think will happen and not what I want to happen.

Thanks for all the links. I just bought 1000rds from Sportsmans Guide. The thing is, the 1k pack is out of stock until October 13th 2013 BUT, supposedly two 500rd packs will be available 21 Jan 2013? Not sure I understand that one but I got two 500rds and we'll see what happens. There is a nice $25 coupon code that actually worked too. Not sure if I'm supposed to post it here but a google search will find it easy. It's on the slick guns deal site also.
So assuming the ammo comes in when it's supposed to, the total was $215.97 shipped for 1k. Not bad considering the current market.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I've been a member of SPG for about ten years now. And I could tell you now, that those dates mean nothing.
Oh, you will eventually get the ammo, if the prices do not go up. But if the prices do go up, then they'll put you on permanent back order list, until you forget, get old, or simply just give up. In the mean time, you'll see in stock ammo sold at greatly higher prices, than your backorderd item.
There have been many threads about SPG's questionable business practices on the internet.
