Look out!
Just had my entire receiver disassembled tonight. Twice! Once with instructions, once without.
Gonna do that a few more times, play with the pieces, figger out how they work and in what sequence, and then I'll move on to the slide. After that... look out! I'll be dangerous!
Amazing how simple these Glocks are. Nothing like an ol' M1911-A1!

Hey, good for you. Once you do it a half dozen times, you'll be able to do it in your sleep.
Nothing too scary with the slide. The spring cups on the firing pin can be a little tricky but with practice you'll lose only about half of them.

You're right! I did it again -- in my sleep last night. Tonight, when I go to bed, I'll tackle the slide.

you can find an animation on-line that can help you visualize the sequence of events (in fact, try here)

Thanks! Yeah, there's all kinds of good stuff on the net.
FWIW, I've had everything torn and down and reassembled a dozen or so times and can do it without thinking about it.

Once you are comfortable stripping the frame and slide, then you can get out your files and dremel tool and screw up a perfectly good weapon like so many others have done before you

No way! My ol' fingers don't have the gription they used to, so I put on an extended slide release and slide lock. But that's it. I'm not a hot-rodder.

But the holes in the frame of the 1911 don't wear out from people that needlessly disassemble their pistol too many times.
