Back during the last -OMG the sky is falling - mag shortage - I saw some "G19" KCI mags at a gun show -

They were 3/$10 (tax included) - G19 mags at the same show were $29.99 + tax = ~$32.50 each.

So I figured WTH - and grabbed 3 -

I used them at the range - I use them when I do mag change drills and am letting the empty mag drop to the ground.

They function 100% in my G19 -- but have only shot FMJ ammo through them.

I don't care if they hit the bare concrete floor at the range - I don't care if they break - so far they seem to be holding up well and are saving some abuse on my OEM Glock mags.

I wish now I would have bought more of them.

I was looking for some KCI mags for my G21 - but want the 13 round mags - so far I have not seen any - but if I do - and if they are cheap I will give them a try.

Even if they have failures I would claim it as a win - good to have mag failures while at the range - it is good practice.

I would not use them for SD - unless no other mags were available.

My understanding is only the Glock 19 mags made by KCI are worth a damn, the others are hit or miss quality. The G19 mags are made using a copyright I believe that was purchased as a result of the S. Korean Presidential guard and some of the national police transitioning to the glock 19. I have a dozen or so of them from when they first hit the market. In all honesty they feel a little sturdier built than glock mags but not quite so cleanly manufactured. Glock mags have the detailed attenioned, KCI mags have razor sharp feed lips that you may have to be careful with. The parts are all interchangeable. Not bad if you can still find them for the right price.

Yeah - something about that sight and this forum but you get the idea - right?
If you are okay with used (LEO turn ins)
check with Mark at Summit Gun Brokers. G22 are usually $12 with others at $15. Stock varies but the business is lively!
Everything always looks like its in stock there. It's after you place your order when you get the back order notice. Lol

For the sake of reliability, I'd stick with the OEM mags.

I'm such an idiot. Didn't even notice it on my mobile when I ordered. Thanks for the heads up. I do have a few of the KCI and they have worked but not at this price. Will try to cancel in the morning.

I have quite a few of them, and they have all been flawless in my gen3 G17. They all drop free and feed every type of ammo that I have loaded them with. I recently bought more, in fact, and will continue to do so in the future. However, I encourage folks not to buy them because it keeps the prices down for those who know better.

So please everyone, stick with the OEM mags; they're more reliable afterall, aren't they?

yepper, as stated above, they suck, not worth a single silver, opps, whatever it's made of, dime!!!
I've used them as daily carry for 3 yrs.
NOT ONE FTF/FTE in I suspect 3000 rds.
Trim off the flash, use a small flat file on the witness holes inside and put them back together.
Converted a dozen 40 SW over to 357 Sig followers (Glock factory) and those work perfectly as well.
KCI is a whole lot better than Govt, USA, 7 rd 1911 mags and also the 9mm govt mags for the barreta, and those worked as well, at least I'm still here and standing

The only Korean mag I have had problems with is a version of a G-22 mag that I bought from CDNN for $5 or $6. It does not drop from the mag well even a millimeter when the mag release is depressed and I literally have to pull it out. It also has had feeding problems. I have KCI versions of the G-17 & G-19 mags that work well.

They great for the range or as back up when all of the Glock mags have run dry. I wouldn't use for EDC or as a primary in my pistol. IMO.

I noticed that the company that starts with B-O-T-*-*-* seems to have a new website and they only list Glock mags of 10 rd or less in stock. nothing over 10 even has a price listed

Bought a 3 pack for my 17. Had to polish up the insides a bit but they work well for range duty.

Recently at a gunshow I bought some KCI mags for my G17 by mistake and didn't discover it until I was almost home. After getting over my "MAD AT ME" I looked them over and they are not bad for the price. I am using them and the weakest point seems to be the spring, I ordered some Wolff springs and replaced them. Can't tell the difference now between them and the Glocks. I plan to do the same with G19 mags if I can't find Glock at a reasonable price. I did take the KCI apart to check the inside and found no problems.

Right now as far as I can tell no one has Glock mags with more then 10 round capacity in stock.
