Quality lever action (now a days)

I wont ask who makes the best but rather:

Who makes a nice lever action rifle in pistol cal (357 or 44). When I say nice, I mean typically known to be reliable- by consensus. If you own one and are confident in its reliability, please share the details.

There are alot of used Marlins pre cross block safety out there if you look around. I want one in .357mag with a 2.5x scope on for close range woods hunting on some areas of my hunting property.

You can either pay a fortune and buy yourself a brand new Winchester 1892 (made in Japan) or spend some time and find used, pre-cross bolt safety Marlin 1894 (just read about Marlin jam first). Anyway - these would be my choices.
