I am SO sad tonight...I can not hardly stand it!

Regarding what happened in Conneticut....

I am a teacher and I have TONS of empathy for everyone involved in that situation. THERE but for the grace of God go I!

I have had numerous conversations with my husband since last night. I just talked to my oldest daughter, and then to my mother.

THEY all know where my heart is here. IF something EVER happens in our town, Kissimmee, Florida, you can be certain that I WILL place myself between my precious students and the gunman.

FIRST, I will do everything I can to incapacitate the gunman, but when it comes right down to it, they will have to take me down first BEFORE they harm the first hair on any student's head.

My husband HATES hearing me talk like this, but is telling me to throw whatever heavy objects I can grab first.

When I go to school Monday, my partner teacher and I are going to have a long talk with each other (it already started on Friday) and with our principal.

I will do all I can to protect innocent children.

I have had an amazing life. I will fight for them to have the right to life THEIR lives. I got to see MY hopes and dreams come true through my two beautiful daughters who are now married and seeing their dreams fulfilled.

My heart breaks tonight.

These sick individuals can NOT win!

At least feel comfort in knowing you're not the only one. Everyone I know who has kids has been quite distraught. It's still hard to believe such evil exists.

I had an issue with a particular adult this week about the need to get a pass before he could gain access to our campus. He thinks I was tough last week!!!!!

He ain't seen NOTHING yet!

Our children are our hopes and dreams. They are our joy! Remember that as you tuck them in tonight. Say a special prayer of thanks for every day that you are blessed to have them in your life!

As it should be. If they're not doing anything they shouldn't they shouldn't have a problem. The key is to strike a balance between being proactive and over-reactive.
