I carry at home but I would like to have firearms available to me around the house. However, I want to limit unauthorized access from children, too. What do you feel are the safest methods to accomplish quicker access and eliminating unauthorized use?

My preferred method is what it sounds as if you're already doing: loaded firearm concealed on the person of a responsible adult, at once instantly accessible to legitimate user, but inaccessible to unauthorized hands. Other firearms under lock & key.

Second best: quick access gun safes a'la' Gun Vault.
