I'd either be too busy/ in a coma to get back to you.

A month leave after Iraq? I usually spent the first week in a bedroom, only leaving for Gatorade or a sandwich....

well, I only left for Gatorade, there was no need for me to be making sandwiches.

So some Sunday morning when I'm late for church because I was up late with Mr.C and my head is pounding because I had a bit too much and the youngest child is yelling from her room "Come wake me up Mommy!"... I'll burst with happiness and joy.

Is that right?

I'm late to the party, but why does kids and religion mean you can't have sex or alcohol?? I get all 4. Well, not "religion" per se. Rules don't make you happy. FREEDOM makes you happy. (As do kids - I love having children.)

FWIW - you may be happier, but I can give you 2 bits of advice to keep you sane, happy and safe in your 70's, 80's and 90's.

1. Get married and stay married long term.

2. Have at least 2 kids.

I can't tell you the staggering reality of lonely aging people. People who, for one reason or another, are entering retirement without family. (Some lifelong single. Some divorced or early spousal death, no kids.) No one thinks about it at a healthy 62. But at an unhealthy 75 or 80? Oh dear. My clients are aging and there IS a difference.

So right. Kids can be a pain in the butt at different points in their lives, but the saddest people I know are the ones who are old and alone, who never wanted kids, who now have to deal with nobody really caring if they are alive or dead.

I'm glad I won't be one of them.

So it took a study to determine that self indulgence beats out responsibility and self restraint?

More proof that the world is full of people educated well above the level of their intelligence.
