President Obama says he has a mandate from the election to raise taxes on the people making $250,000 and over. He doesn't have anything like that, the last I saw, he won by about 2% of the vote.

Yep. You need to win by a much larger margin to be considered to have a "mandate."

That isn't going to stop a pollytician from trying, though.

He won he should do what he has the votes to do.... He will either way so will see what happens. His party does not control both houses of congress so check and balances will apply some or he will at least have to agree to pork and special interests to get his way / buy congressional votes. Yeah America.
