One of my great regrets in life is not posting on the Mall Ninja thread when it happened. I read it in-progress, several times, but then I was still under the 'post only when you have something productive to add.

I've loosened up since then, but my post count is still crazy low, and I still at least ATTEMPT to consider if there's something constructive I could add. But I'll now post even if there's not, and sometimes there IS, but I'll say something else.

The man's handle is "concretefuzzynuts", he has an avatar of a squirrel eternally doing the nasty in Spiderman's ear and the best you can come up with to poke fun at him is "FuzzyNoNuts"? Really???

Hey Richard!

I enjoy his posts and think he has a lot to offer. Too bad you are not on the same level to understand them so maybe you shouldn't reply to them.

I have had one too many White Russians with this White Russian chick over at my place, so I really don't know why I am here, but I wanted to say that you are not a noob.

I think that is what I wanted to say. Anyway...

Like you have anything valuable to add?

You seem to be as useful as a door gunner on a submarine.

His threads are not a car wreck. His threads are a well placed spike strip that you and countless others drive straight into. With bad jokes.

I'll have to admit it wasn't one of my best efforts. When I'm not so tired and can think about something other than airplanes I'll retry. Geez, I can't even succeed at being a "random dick that insults people on the internet". You'd think I'd be better after seeing all the other great talent on here.

Every morning I wake and reach for a weapon , I think like a noob ! Same old routine , one in the chamber , only safety is the one between my ears , never touch or put finger in trigger guard unless I am going to shoot something ! Surroundings and awareness , collateral-damage ,cover ! That trigger should be nothing less than LAST-RESORT and all other options are exhausted in a mili-second,etc. etc. !

Been shooting since 1969 and still learning and thinking ! I'm still a noob.....! Never shot anything I didn't mean to yet but , it ain't over yet !
Just never stop thinking about it if you're gonna carry it. There are many things I have learned but many more I know nothing about. Ammo alone is one that I'm always reading or searching
and it's changing all the time !

Welcome : from one noob to another........!

hello friends,

Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.

What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.

Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.

Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?

BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and “catch the rounds” while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.

Thanks!

This?
I think I have actually worked with a couple people over the years that fall into this category.

On a side note I hit the five year mark next month so I guess by Newb status goes away.

Does earning an infraction help one shed the n00b status?

Dunno. I'll tell ya when I'm no longer a n00b. That is if anyone tells me.

This is so confusing.

Your failure to post in that thread inspired me to stop lurking, get registered, and I started posting in that very thread.

So, I'm your fault.

To answer your question you must answer this one.

Have you ever posted in the "ham shack" forum?

I can't believe we have an entire sub-forum dedicated to bacon and pork chops.
