I've gotten three infractions. One I deserved, none from Mrs VR. Although she has given me breaks and could have issued me one.

You're probably still a newb then. Unless you know the ins and outs and all the what-have-you's of the term mall ninja.

This?
Quote:
hello friends,
Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.
What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.
Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.
Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?
BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and “catch the rounds” while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.
Thanks!

IMHO,
When you stop posting stupid questions like this one, then you will not be a noob.
I should mention that there are few people who have been here a long time who qualify as noobs.
AS far as the other poster who tried to talk down to you for your low post count....If you can argue your point, then the post count doesn't matter. If you can't, come up with a better argument.

This place is nothing, go over to ARFCOM where making you feel like a newb is considered a blood sport.

It took 41 posts to be insulted and called out.
Why the delay GT?

I'm only posting so I can inflate my post count so maybe I can get out of newbie status.
Member since 2002 but only 252 posts. I mostly just read and laugh to myself about how great some people think they are.

I will say that if you are posting honest questions, I want to help the noobs get honest answers. Why does my gun do X? Why doesn't my gun do X? Having problems with X? All valid noob questions. All questions where I will try to help?
I almost never call anyone a noob, unless they are being completely stupid. Other people call someone a noob as a put down to win an argument. IMHO, if you can not win the argument with logic, you don't deserve to win the argument.
BTW, I am a noob on the HK board. I decided I needed one and so I went there to learn a little. So far so good. I have also posted a noob question about the Saiga12 shotgun. I don't have one and I would like to know more before making a purchase.

I just thought it is a fun question, that's all.
I enjoy the information and debate of Glock Talk. I learn and try to share what I know. But I also have a sense of humor and try to help lighten the spirit of conversation here.
Having stated that I will duct tape the armor back on and wait.

If taking multiple rounds of .308 to your chest is plan A, you better come up with a plan B.
