They need around fifty grand. Aren't the Dakotas awash in oil money? Sheesh!

An SKS.........honestly.............Why not just completely do away with the ceremony and kick the body off into an open ditch. You can't fix stupid.

Are the people there clueless? There is a US Army program that loans rifles out for funerals.
Any vet organization (VFW, Am Legion, etc) should already know how to get them.

I can't say what I am thinking. I own a SKS. To use it to honor American soldiers. NO
I would rather have them use a 30 30 lever action. As said they are loaned rifles/ammo. I actually felt bad when they went from 03 springfields to M1s. It seemed often by 3rd volley only 3 are shooting.

Too be fair, only ND has the oil riches. SD isn't getting squat. I wonder why the SD Guard stopped loaning out the rifles?

I agree that an American rifle would seem the better choice.

That makes you want to vomit a bit, even worse if they are made by Norinco.
If the UN get their way, it'll be Nerf guns.

Most likely they had to turn them back into the Army and turn them over to the CMP.

Why don't they use just use Osama Bin Laden's AK while they are in the business of dishonering our fallen? WTF?
