Will a G20 upper receiver fit on a G29 frame?

I'd love to keep the velocity of the Glock 20 but be able to conceal like a G29. Is this possible? Or is my only alternative to cut down a G20 frame so that a G29 magazine would fit?

You could get a 4.6" G29 barrel from Lonewolf.

Then the barrel is sticking out too much and it could get caught on something on a draw.

No the slides do not interchange and the loacking lug of the 20 barrel is different than the locking lug of the G-20. :(

Dude, your worries about that little bit of barrel catching on something are silly. The extra barrel protruding wont be any more likely to hang up on something than the full slide and barrel would. It sure seems like a much simpler and cost-effective method of getting what you're looking for. Cutting down a full G20 ruins a frame. For a little over a $100 you can drop in an extended G29 barrel and be shooting before the sun goes down.

Having my own chronograph, I've tested the velocity of many different kinds of 10MM ammo shot out of all sorts of different barrels and lengths. The lost velocity in a G29 compared to the same ammo out of a G20 is measurable - with some loads more than others - but it's such a small difference that I wouldn't let it bother me at all. The exact load you use will make a MUCH larger difference than the barrel length will. G29's usually spit them out about 50 FPS slower than a stock G20 will, and a 6" hunting barrel in a G20 only gives you an extra 50 to 75 FPS over the stock barrel.

Actually I'd suggest you forget the whole thing and keep your G29 as small and concealable as possible. You've already made the biggest difference you can easily make just by choosing a 10MM instead of a .40 Short & Weak.

I own a Glock 20C (3rd Generation).

I want to buy a Glock 20 SF lower frame and then cut my current frame to G29 size.

That seems cheaper than buying a new Glock 29, new barrel, and night sights.

May be cheaper, but at least you'd own two firearms! With your 20 being the c model, I'd almost bet you would even see less velocity loss going to a G29.

Wait for a used G29, and the money you'll save over buying new you can use for the night sights. Win/win!

Used is going for marginally less than new. I would still end up losing money in the long run. My method would essentially save about $300

Once you've cut that 20 frame, and need/want to sell, how much will you lose? If you get a good deal on a 29, you can always make that money back. Just sayin FWIW.

Why would I sell it? And you're telling me no one would want a cut down frame for a G20 slide that has the profile of a G29 and uses G29 magazines?

And I'd still have the SF frame intact.

i have even thouht about cutting a 20 frame down t 29 size. it has been discussed here before and i haven't heard many who have done it or their experiences if they have. Now here is someone who has made a 26 ls an article why and video on how they like it so far.

These are extremely rare because they are brand new. Keep in mind, these are sold as a firearm and must be sold through an FFL dealer just like the complete firearm. Magazines not included.

Just out of curiosity, what does your FFL charge for a transfer? Mine, the last time I asked was $35, but it might have gone up. That was more than a couple of years ago. Again, you are correct, it is still cheaper than a G29 purchase.

Yes, I'm not understanding the hate. The primary drawback of a Glock 20 for concealed carry is how large the grip is. Cutting it down to G29 eliminates that. And it's not like I'm affecting the overall structural integrity. The part that takes the pressure will be untouched. Worst thing that happens is that I screw it up. Oh well, got a G20 SF frame for it to be on.
