Something is bothering me about Hostess..
Why didn't Obama step in and save Hostess? They are fully unionized and all....
Just wondering...

I think the paper said about 18k jobs would be lost with Hostess... we'll be generous and say 14k of those jobs were union.
UAW membership is around 430k.
Basically, I'm sure the UAW is giving WAY MORE $$$ to Democrats, than the Bakers, Confectionary and Tobacco union.

Regardless of whether the POTUS is a despicable POS like our current one or some stellar representative that is cherished by independents and conservatives...the POTUS should not intervene.

I'm not union, however, I can't lay all the blame on them. What do you say about management that has been bankrupt more than once in the 8 years? Unions gave up $110 million in the first one. Management failed to grow the company, had too much debt, and then asks the union to take another cut. Could they have? Probably, but when you've already taken a cut and management hasn't done any better then I can't fully blame the union. Management definitely has more than its share of blame here as well.

I think it is funny they have anyone at Hostess in a bakers union. I doubt that stuff is ever touched human hands. The closest a person gets to it is to load it on the truck.
