Very new to the market, very unproven at this time.
Plenty of proven AR setups from proven companies available in similar price ranges.

WoodenPlank is right again.
Just because they make good shotguns DOES NOT mean they make good AR15s, period.
I wonder who makes the AR parts for Mossberg, though.

I don't think there's anything out there that can top the M&P15-22

Psst.... the rifle in the OP is 5.56, not .22LR.

LOL, I guess I'd better pay closer attention. In that case I'd deffinately look elsewhere. The one and only time I've experienced a Mossberg AR (.22lr) it was a sad sight. Mybe their 5.56/.223 are different. But like others have said there are better more proven alternatives.

A closer look at what? Two drunk idiots with guns? All that showed was that it was reliable for half a dozen shots.

if you are a hardcore mossburg fan than sure go ahead...and let us know how it runs. if you are just looking for an ar in the 950 range(the price they had on their site) i would not even consider looking at that. at least for me, if i am spending a grand on anything, I want something a little bit more proven. maybe its the next great one, but it could just as easily be a lemon.

Wow... they should ban guns for people like that.
Is it "MMR Tactical" or is it a Mossberg logo and "Mr. Tactical?"
Mossberg obviously trying to cash in on the HK nomenclature of "Mr. 556" and "Mr. 762"

Buds last price was $675. For that price, it's worth giving a shot, or a thousand. Then you can let us know how it goes. I suspect it will do pretty well. Worst case, if something goes wrong, they are easy to fix.
If you get it, take an inventory and see how it measures up with regard to staking, the buffer, MPI and shot peened bolt. And of course, accuracy. I suspect reliability won't be an issue.
But stay out of N. Dallas until you can trust it.

Let's take a chance on something so unproven from a manufacturer that couldn't get a .22 version correct when S&W puts out a proven platform in the M&P Sport.

For several hundred dollars, I don't want to give anything "a shot", I want it to work.

1K 5.56x45mm = ~$380.
$380 + $ 675 = $1,055.
Hmmm... funny how that works out to just about the price of a quality rifle.
