Some dude opened fire on VFD crews at a structure fire. Stay safe guys... Remember, if it doesn't feel right, back out and request LE.

The crazies are coming out of the woodwork even more than I thought. That's insane, and a nightmare scenario for LE as well. Watch your backsides, ladies and gents.

Yeah I heard the SWAT team on the scanner working their way around the building and they reported shooter was down with a couple weapons nearby. The press conference didn't specify if it was suicide or if the police got him. I guess an off duty officer had a shootout with him and took shrapnel early into the incident. What a horrible situation. My heart goes out to the first responders and their families.

It's not enough to be in so much pain that you kill yourself anymore. It's become a contest to see how much news coverage you get by taking others with you. So, so sad.

These nuts are being told everybody else is responsible for their problems, and I guess this is their way of getting even.
Now nothing is the perpetrator's fault, alway someone else. BS. Reality has losers, the media should get used to it. Some people are an abomination. Not everybody is "special".
Be careful out there.

I live 20 minutes from where this occurred and have many friends in Webster, a small town outside Rochester. What is becoming clear is this is a nut case who was convicted of killing his grandmother with a hammer, served a few years in jail, and then released under NY's lenient parole system. He returned to the same home, lived with is mother, and "went crazy" when she died in October. It looks like he probably killed his sister, set the fire to cover up the murder, then shot the firemen when they responded.
This will be used as another reason to ban guns. It should be used as another reason to bring back the death penalty. If NY had a death penalty or mandatory life for murdering someone, he never would have been released to kill the firemen on Christmas Eve.

man! this is crazy i said i was scared to burn up in my turn-outs or get stuck by a dirty needle now i have to worry about a gun shot to the chest. We in EMS do this cause we want to help people. We go on scene ( first responders ) to get info on radio to the medic or to basically access damages. I pray the lord fixes this place as people are evil! BSI & scene safety now KEVLAR has put out there :(
BE SAFE EVERYONE!!!
