I have a chance to pick up a used Mossberg 500 "JIC" for $289 plus tax. It comes with the round box/case but i want to know if its a good price? The gun itself looks to be in like new condition. Also, what would be a good butt stock for that shotgun?i'm wanting a both the pistol grip and a buttstock. Thanks for the input.

It is a fair price. Just pick up a stock synthetic mossberg stock or if HD get the youth synthetic stock.

I added a Mesa Tactical LEO Adapter, an ITT Recoil Reducer Buffer Tube, an AR pistol grip which I am going to replace with a Hogue grip and a Magpul STR stock to my new 590A1.

I paid $280 for mine new a few years ago, so I would try to work him down some. A factory buttstock is fine. If you're going for more "defensive" use, a youth-sized stock may be your best bet (this is what I use on my 590A1). You can find them on ebay fairly cheap.
