In some states (Texas) a NICS check isn't required.


So the gun sales were something over that number.

I'd say that NICS is a good indicator of gun sales. Sure, some states' CCW holders don't have to do NICS but many other states do. Some NICS don't result in gun sales, but some NICS result in multiple gun sales.

I know of one recent NICS that resulted in eight handguns...hehe.

I bought a Glock 17 Gen3 for my stepdad for Christmas. The NICS system was down but I had my CCDW on me so I walked right out with it after I filled out my 4473.

NC as well. Once when buying a handgun the guy was happy I had a CCL and he did not have to do a check.
