It's cheap to have parts available, but unecessary. Even across our whole department, with semi-annual armorers inspections, high round counts, and servicing the glocks of any academy student that has a problem, rarely does anything need replacing due to breakage or failure. That said, I must admit, when I go to a school or competition, I take a second glock.

Speaking of spare parts. I went through the Glock armorer class a while back and have been having a hard time ordering any parts from Glock. Any other armorers here have trouble with the fax in order system at Glock? I wish they would put up a parts site online.

Would it be smart to order some spare parts for my g17 gen3 if glock should stop producing the gen 3 in the future ? I`ve been told that the recoil spring, slide and frame are not the same in gen 4. Does that bother any of you gen 1 2 or 3 owners ?

Guess you could but glock gen recoil setups are made by blizzards of people and with about 10,000,000 of them in the USA parts aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Nah. With so many Glocks out there, parts will always be available. If not by Glock, then by companies like Lone Star.
Heck, you can still get OEM NOS parts for a '21 Ford.
