VA permit holder driving through GA
How do I carry two Glocks driving through GA from VA on the way to FL? GA does not honor VA permit.
Thanks,

I always unload them, put the guns in the spare Tire area in the way back, and drive slow.

If you have time, pick up a Utah or New Hampshire permit, both are accepted in GA.
Otherwise, unloaded with ammo in another case, in the trunk.

"Any person who is not prohibited by law from possessing a handgun or long gun may have or carry on his or her person a weapon or long gun on his or her property or inside his or her home, motor vehicle, or place of business without a valid weapons carry license."......O.C.G.A 16-11-126 (a)
In short, it's legal for you to carry in your car without a weapons carry permit. Just don't stop to take a piss and accidently carry it in somewhere.

Put it in a holster and in your center counsil or gun compartment.
Oh yeah, the gun compartment is known as the glove compartment in other states.

make sure to READ CAREFULLY
some states are now recognizing permits
only IF you live IN that state.

By the same token, WI only accepts VA's NON-resident permit and not the resident permit.

In this state you should have it available and loaded and in the front area. Alert when gas stops and rest rooms.

VA non-resident permits go through NCIC, resident permits do not, they go through State investigation only. WI's acceptance of another state's permit requires NCIC.

There's a reason I suggested UT and not FL's non-resident permit.
FL:
Original permit Non-Residents: 5yrs $117
Renewal fee $107
Training class
Live fire class $40.00
http://proactiveshooters.com/florida...ermit-classes/
But that requires another class: $85.00
UT:
Original permit Non-Residents: 5yrs $51.00
Renewal, A FEE OF $10.00 PAYABLE TO “Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification”
Cost for class: $50
http://www.guard-training.com/astc8_007.htm
FL accepts your VA resident permit so that's a non issue.
Yeah, I was bored this morning.

And yet my non-res PA permit, which required nothing more than a photocopy of a my VA permit, is good in WI...

You can't get them by mail anymore but they are still super easy to get as far as requirements (I believe holding a permit in your home state is the only requirement).
