Well, CF, unfortunately, you have been proven wrong today. You claim weed does not lead to bad things.
Did you read the post about smoking it every 4 hours? What has that lead to?

It's illegal to drive drunk and can get you jail time but if pot is legal then it's legal to smoke and drive. I can't imagine why anyone would want pot legal

It's all a moot point because you'll never see marijuana legalized in this country.
All that "medicinal" marijuana is about to go away too.
It's just scam for potheads to get around the law.

Um...alcohol is legal, but if you're found to be operating a motor vehicle with a BAC above a certain level, I believe that you might get arrested if caught? I'm not exactly sure on that, I think I might need a LEO to chime in and let me know....

Well, we are two for two with our prohibitionists and common sense! Why in the world would driving stoned be legal? Is it now? Why would it be then? Thats probably the MOST ignorant reason I have heard for prohibition.

However, the effect of legalization in some states and not others will result in a massive marijuana industry in those states, since they can then safely grow it and export to the illegal states without crossing any international borders. There is no random search when you cross from Colorado to Kansas. The effect will be double-edged. It will hurt the Mexican drug dealers a lot more than this study guesses, but it will increase the supply of marijuana and decrease the cost, in the states that don't legalize it.

JB - can you point me toward the portion of the Constitution that authorizes the federal government to ban or regulate cannabis?

I'm always amazed at the number of conservatives on this forum who are against big government...unless it's supporting one of their personal causes.

For what its worth, I voted in Favor of CO Amendment 64.
I should add that I dont smoke weed nor cigarettes. Its just not my business to tell someone else what they should or should not be doing.

Not any more. When you're my age, doctors will write prescriptions for whatever you want and all it costs is a co-pay. I wonder if medical weed will be covered by Medicare part D?

What more could I possibly want in life? I will so lucky to have the opportunity to pay for your weed habit.
And people wonder why I have a bad attitude....

Only thing "kinda silly" IMO is the fact that someone wouldn't be able to understand what's going on......except those who desire drugs over everything else.

Sorry my friend......but that's sort of a "silly" statement IMO. Just who gets to state which laws are and which laws aren't, eh?
Somewhere there will be someone who feels murder laws are "silly" ya know? Are we to allow them to disregard those laws because they feel that way? Not hardly me thinks.

Why would you pay for it??
Once it's legal, you grow it right in between the peppers and squash.
It's free.

Hell no! They'll literally invade this country and forcibly take control of the marijuana trade. They'll engulf this country in a full scale drug war that will kill thousands of innocent Americans.
Just so a few selfish American potheads can get high. Potheads refuse to see the damage to people's lives that marijuana does. Nobody smokes pot in a vacuum. It all affects other people, directly and indirectly.
|
I dunno. I see a lot of people growing their own stash. Most folks don't grow their own poppies or cacoa (sp?) plants to make their own drugs, but growing and drying MJ (for fun and minor profit) means little-to-no large-scale pot farming in the US.
Who will the Mexicans attack? Stoners with a small growhouse???
