To make sure the NPT can withstand long-term abuse, it was put through military-grade testing. Engineers shot test tires with 50-caliber rounds from an AK-47 and then subjected them to 5,000 hours of off-roading. On another outing that involved crossing a train tracks, a rail spike punctured the tread band of an NPT, but the rider kept going on it for more than 1,000 miles.
A 50 cal AK-47?
|
That will never sell for anything beyond an ATV. It would make sense, but you'd put all the tire manufacturers out of business. Imagine if you only had to buy one set of tires for your car ever.

Well, I got some good news today! I test with LMPD on Friday, March 29th! PT test, written, and oral all in the same day; it should prove interesting, at least!

Congrats!! Don't worry about training or preparing at all. I heard all you need to do is take a 5 hour energy shot right before you get there and you'll sail through... although that guy is still looking for a job... meh, I'm sure you'll do fine!

Thanks, everyone. Lawman, I'm sure hoping so, too. My aunt retired out of this agency, and my grandfather from one of the predecessor agencies that was merged into it. I have some friends on it right now, too, so I *think* I have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting into, lol. It'll be an initial pay cut, but the benefits are better, and it'll cut my commute in half (worst case scenario). Plus, my state retirement time will carry over (same system).

Thanks, guys.
On a separate note, OUCH. That's what I feel this morning. PT test with the ARNG yesterday, and it made me realize just how much I need to get my ass in the gym. But not today; I'm doing good to walk to the bathroom today, lol.

I had longjohns on this morning for an active shooter drill. After we ended it the weather turned nice but had a cold breeze from the north. I can live with this.

I figured if you were posting here that you must have gotten dragged into a chick flick.
