Funny that the conversation about the military would come up as I get home from doing my drill weekend with my ARNG unit.

And surprise, surprise! Just checked, and I have my W2 now! Taxes shall be filed tomorrow or Tuesday, whichever is the first day you can e-file.

Thanks for reminding me to look. I wonder if I should up my withholding?

Sent from my communicator.

Me too. I'm starting to get a wee bit upset; despite me having them take my state taxes out at the max rate, I keep having to pay several hundred dollars into it. I'm not exactly happy about this, either.

17F here right now, with a wind chill of 2. Supposed to have an actual low of 11; no idea what the wind chill is supposed to get down to.

Got sunburned today while driving my convertible with the top down in 84F weather... yep, in the middle of winter. It was actually getting too hot and I had to pull in the shadow of a big rig so I can get some shade. Wearing a regular dress shirt was too hot in the office with the sun beating in. Crazy.

And I again feel the urge to tell you that I hate you

Freezing cold here, lots of snow. Stopped snowing two days ago, but will start again in a couple of days. Really much snow this year. Ok I like snow, but everything is cold, wet and takes 5 times as long outside. And I dont have time for snowboarding, so that sucks.

btw. I was just listening to "blinded by the light".
I really like that song, so for the first time ever I looked at the lyrics while it was playing on the radio...

Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Madman drummers bummers,
Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older,
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin,
the calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong,
play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
She's gonna make it through the night
But mama, that's where the fun is
But mama, that's where the fun is
Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is
Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
Says, "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone,
that's where they expect it least"
And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner,
watching the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone, reminding him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground
But she was...
Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night

I wonder if the drug use was responsible for the song lyrics of that era.

Or if the song lyrics of that era were responsible for the drug use....
