Heck, for that much money, I will buy all the staplers I want and hire minions to hand paint each one individually to my tastes.

I really wish I could argue with you, but you're absolutely right. I guess I'll be looking to trade my compact SUV for a moped pretty soon. The folks in China seem to enjoy theirs, after all.

I'm selling my Dodge Ram and buying a Prius... and a mask so nobody recognizes me driving it.

Well, there won't be much left to defend in a year or two.

It really saddens me to think this is what our country has become. We used to stand on principles and morals, we did what we felt was right because we were informed and because it's what we believed, not because it was popular. And we weren't so effing scared to get our hands dirty and do a little work. We didn't expect anyone to do for us, and we were alright doing for ourselves. We aspired to be better, now we just aspire to skate by. I really wanted to shed a tear tonight, not because Obama won. But because Obama won through the downfall of Americans as a whole. Lazy, ill-informed, with an entitlement attitude and deathly afraid of an honest days' work. What has become of this great country? That's why I wanted to shed a tear.

so Obama won, will be interesting to see what follows from a foreign point of view. He has lots of supporters here but I am not sure what to think about it. Have to say I do support free medical care, even more than just for life threatening situations, but the economical USA is an absolute mess. Being the world police is expensive but necessary, nonetheless there is too much industry connected to that in the US, that it seems it doesn't really matter who becomes the President.
The two party system also is not really a good idea when it comes to democracy.
I fear that the country is going down even more.
Don't be afraid I will send you care packages.

Keep them.
We need to learn to be slaves for several hundred years first.

We are done. Done. This country will not be recognizable as it goes down that road.
People were bought off with promises of free stuff from other people's pockets. Entire populations, hoodwinked, and do not see the truth, of the socialism foisted upon them en masse, as they clap and cheer while liberty dies.

Keep the care packages. Be our sponsors when we apply for asylum to your country.
No insult to anyone out there, but foreigner support has no bearing on our presidential elections. It's our president, not the world president. What other countries like and don't like or want for us, is not necessarily what is good for us, and usually, it is not, because we are hated more than liked on the world stage by numbers of countries.
When Obama was touted as having support by China, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, etc., that was not a good thing, because those countries do not have our best interests at heart.
Obama is a weak president and other countries see it as weakness that we have him leading the world apology tour. Blame America, turn his back on Americans getting killed, say sorry for everything other people get mad about, bow to other leaders, this is not how my president acts. My president is strong and proud and stands up for America, no matter what.

That's the truth. It seriously had me worked into a migraine; not fun. To say I'm disgusted with this country right now is an understatement.

Well, I got called to work overtime today (I'd signed up if they needed me to come in on my off day); they had 4 or 5 go out to the ER on daywatch today. So I hurry up and get ready and drive all the way in to the hospital (about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half), just to get told when I called to confirm where the guy was at that they managed to get guys covering him on straight time (by roster adjusting people), and they didn't need me after all. I got two hours of OT just for showing up, at least, but it's still annoying when I cancelled plans to do this then had to try to salvage what I could of them.

Yeah, me too. I felt sick all night and pretty depressed in the AM. Everyone @ the PD was pretty bummed too. Funny thing is, when I went to work (@ my real job), no one seemed to have even noticed.

Tonight I went as watched my nephew and his band play in a battle of the bands competition. I'm not at all comfortable in places like that, but they played great and even won the round. Now they'll play Saturday night for all the marbles... well, actually just a guitar as the grand prize, but they could probably sell it for $1k so they'll have some rent money for a month. Congrats to "The Salt, The Sea and The Sun God".
