*Video* Speer 124gr. +P 9mm / Overall, I Think It Still Rules!

Been doin' this about 100 years...or so it feels. I've carried every gun, every caliber, every load you can think of.

Why don't I carry one of my .45's>? Because I just shoot my old, vintage Glock 17 better. And placement & hits ARE what counts!

Bullets and their design and construction ARE, also important.
I still think the Gold Dot in 9mm defines the caliber.

GD is good stuff. other ammo would have turned into frangible rounds after that test.

Not that it matters, as the 124 gr. +p has an excellent street record, but this video is jut plain ignorant. No one can tell how much the water contributed to the overall expansion.

People should have to be tested & licensed to post on Youtube.

In my opinion it doesnt matter. After crashing through bone, flesh, more bone, then 2 jugs of water, and performing like it did I think it showed something.

Look up his other videos for comparison. This load did well.

The video provides "irrisputable" proof of the Gold Dot's superiority.

This is the best of the best 9mm bonded load on the market period!

If I carried a 9mm and wanted bonded ammo, this would be my first choice.

There is no question about if that the 9mm has come into it's own with modern ammunition.

Well, there just wouldn't be a Youtube if that were the case, or a Glock Talk for that matter.

I bought 500 rounds of 124 +P GD from ammoman.com for $299 (delivered). Im not sure if they still have the deal running, but its ones of the best around, and with most of my stock sitting in an ammo can, I should be good on supply for 10-20 years.

I think the GD line are the best all-around SD rounds.

I finally got to watch the video on my downstairs computer. I have no idea what is the best all-round SD load is but after following many different threads over the past seven years it's clear to me that Speer Gold Dot is the standard by which all other ammos are judged.

I've read that the Gold Dot was the first bonded bullet on the market and whether true or not it is certain that whatever process Speer uses it has proved itself beyond question. The Gold Dots hold together, even beyond the company's stated window of velocity.

You're absolutely right, and the bullet went through nose cartilage, not skull bone.
