Wolf .308win?
There is a guy selling boxes of this stuff cheap. I'm thinking about picking up a few boxes. Any concerns about this stuff?
I'd be using my 700P if that matters.
Thanks

About 4 years ago, I sold a friend of mine an FAL. Before I sold it to him, I had a gunsmith head space an unissued bolt for it. The extractor was never used until I put it into the gun and fired some Portuguese and South African 7.62 NATO ammunition through it. I never had any problems.
After my friend bought it, he picked up several boxes of Wolf .308 for it. He told me the accuracy of the ammunition was okay. However, in 3 separate incidents the extractor ripped the rim part of the case off while the case remained in the chamber.
He stopped buying Wolf .308 ammunition and has not had the problem since.
Maybe, Wolf has fixed that issue. I would want to try a few boxes of it before I made a large purchase.

Why would you shoot cheap steel cased ammo in a nice bolt action rifle?
I have no experience with the wolf .308, but I have shot some of the .223. Had one blown primer.

The .223 Wolf is fine for the range. I've had a few primers that took two strikes to go off. However, as long as you clean the chamber real good to take all the crap out of their that they coat their cases with you're good.
However, I think I'll pass on the .308. If I had a knock around POS .308. I'd spend the $130 and buy the 18 boxes the guy is selling on CL.
But with my 700P I'll stick with brass.
Thanks

I have a Savage Axis in 308. I use whatever I can find, right now using Brown Bear which is about the same as Wolf, haven't had any problems. I don't and won't use it in my garand 308. My 2 cents.

Ok. Still, like I said, I wouldn't use it in a nice 308 and I don't have any others.
Thanks

It won't hurt the gun.
Some bench shooters fire cheap ammo down range before a match to fowl the barrel.
People will never understand that soft steel won't hurt a gun made out of hard steel.
Edit to add:
<----- Shoots Hornedy steel match, Wolf and Tula through his M1A. The Hornedy Steel match 155 BTHP is insanely accurate for the price. It really is match ammo.

If I had an M1A
I'd buy it for range shooting.
